BPS-Statistics Katingan Regency prepares reliable officers for SAKERNAS 2025

Katingan, 13-23 January 2025 - In order to improve the quality of labour data in Indonesia, BPS-Statistics Katingan Regency held the February 2025 National Labour Force Survey (SAKERNAS) Officer Training. This training is expected to prepare the officers in carrying out accurate and relevant data collection tasks.

The training was attended by 10 participants consisting of 7 Field Data Collection Officers (PPL) and 3 Field Examination Officers (PML). This activity was carried out in several stages, starting with Self-Learning through Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for 3 days, from 13 to 15 January 2025. Furthermore, distance learning (online) through the ZOOM application lasted for 3 days from 16 to 18 January 2025, and ended with face-to-face learning (offline) for 2 days on 22 and 23 January 2025. The face-to-face training was held at the BPS-Statistics Katingan Regency Hall, where the training event was opened directly by the Head of BPS-Statistics Katingan Regency, Khalid Zuhri.

In his speech, Khalid Zuhri expressed his gratitude and highest appreciation to all officers. He emphasised the importance of passion in collecting accurate data, which is the foundation to support better development and policies. Khalid also emphasised the importance of monitoring the implementation of SAKERNAS February 2025 so that it is in accordance with the specified schedule. Quality monitoring is a major concern for BPS, including officers' understanding of concepts, definitions, and SOPs for implementation in the field. Regular control and monitoring will be conducted during the updating and enumeration stages to ensure that no buildings or families are missed, in order to avoid undercoverage.

With this training, it is hoped that SAKERNAS officers will be able to carry out their duties properly, so that the resulting data can be used for planning and evaluating national development programmes, as well as various other interests by UN Agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), companies, academics, and other data users.
