July 2020,Kalimantan Tengah Province experienced 0.03% deflation

Abstract

Out of 90 national CPI monitoring cities, 29 experienced inflation and 61 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Timika (1.45 percent) and the highest deflation was in Manokwari (1.09 percent). Palangka Raya is ranked 29th in deflationary cities at the national level, while Sampit is ranked 10th city for inflation at the national level.
  • Deflation in Palangka Raya (0.22 percent) was influenced by a decrease in the price index in the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.82 percent) and transportation (1.39 percent).
  • Inflation in Sampit (0.28 percent) was also affected by increases in the price index of the transportation group (3.84 percent), personal care and other services (0.96 percent), and food and beverage / restaurant providers (0.75 percent).
  • Based on the two reference cities (Palangka Raya and Sampit), Kalimantan Tengah Province experienced deflation (0.03 percent), followed by a calendar year inflation rate (0.94 percent) and a year-on-year inflation rate (2.03 percent) which was quite low .
